How the formats relate
Decimal is what 1 returns, stake included. 2.50 returns $2.50 for $1. Fractional is profit over stake: 3/2 wins $3 for every $2. American is built around $100: plus odds are the profit on $100, minus odds are the stake needed to win $100.
Prediction markets show prices as cents (Kalshi, Underdog Prediction Picks) or percentages (Novig) instead. A contract at 40¢ or 40% pays $1 if it wins, which is 2.50 in decimal or +150 American, before any fees. Type 40% or 40c above, or use the prediction market calculator to include fees.
Questions
What does -110 mean?
A minus number is how much you stake to win $100. At -110 you stake $110 to win $100 ($210 back). A plus number is what a $100 stake wins: +150 wins $150.
What is implied probability?
The win chance a price needs to break even. It’s 1 divided by the decimal odds. -110 is 1.909 in decimal, so it needs 52.38%.
Why do both sides of a game add up to more than 100%?
The extra is the site’s cut, often called vig or juice. Two sides at -110 add up to 104.76%. The no-vig calculator strips it out to show the fair price.
